Power Week 2022 event to take place on 24th March in Dubai

Utilities Middle East organises the second Power Week Forum that will be held physically on 24th March 2022 at Grosvenor House. The forum brings together top government officials, senior power utilities executives and experts as well as members of the academia.

Utilities Middle East, a leading source of news and business intelligence for the region’s utilities industry and a brand of ITP Media Group, has announced the date for its second annual Power Week event.

Power Week 2022 will be held as a physical event for the first time on 24th March 2022 and it is expected to attract the participation of several professionals from the power sector.

The event will bring together top government officials, senior power utilities executives and experts as well as members of the academia to discuss challenges in the power sector, current innovations, success stories and investment opportunities as the Middle East steps up efforts to close the electric power supply-demand gap.

The event will include engaging panel sessions covering key electric power industry trends, policy and regulation, the region’s power market, energy transition, hydrogen, energy mix optimisation, digitalisation, power plant optimisation, smart grids, and many more.

“The electric power landscape in the Middle East continues to rapidly evolve in response to the growing requirements for carbon neutrality. At the same time, factors such as population growth, urbanisation, and improvements in income levels, industrialisation, and low electricity prices continue to push up demand,” said Baset Asaba, Editor, Utilities Middle East.

“This region will require a lot of investment in power generation capacity to meet the growing demand, but will have to do so in line with net-zero commitments made by individual countries in the Middle East.”

These countries are already channelling huge investments into the development of renewable energy solutions, such as solar and wind, in order to create an energy mix that can effectively guarantee robust clean and sustainable power supply for generations to come.

Countries in the Middle East are richly endowed with resources for both renewable and fossil energy. Is this a double blessing? And what can governments do to take full advantage of both resources to secure their power supply?

Can the private sector leverage new technology to develop a strong electric power eco-system that is sustainable? How can advancements in research around synthetic fuels such as hydrogen support the push for carbon-neutrality on one side and capacity increase on the other?

Power Week 2022 seeks to answer these and more questions. The event will bring together industry peers, government regulators, policy makers, top renewable & IPPs executives, EPCs, investors and suppliers in the region.

Do not miss to be a part of the insightful discussions that brings together C-level speakers and attendees all under one roof to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the GCC power sector.
