First phase of the project has been energized and the full plant will be operational before the end of the year
The first tenders may be launched once new long-term renewable targets are announced by Saudi authorities
It is the first renewable energy project under King Salman Renewable Energy Initiative
The bidders include ACWA Power, the renewable energy units of European utilities Electricite de France and Enel SpA, and Engie SA’s International Power.
