The Managing Director of Technical Projects at BEEAH Group, Mohammed Nayeem Quraishi, will be a speaker at Power Week 2022 where he will talk about the increasing need to urgently decarbonise the power sector in the GCC.
Quraishi will join a panel of the region’s top power utilities executives and experts on 24th March 2022 at Grosvenor House, Dubai, to discuss the topic: ‘Power generation in the path towards Net-Zero.’
With thermal power accounting for more than 90% of installed power generation capacity in the GCC, this presents an opportunity for significant decarbonisation through fossil fuel substitution across the region.
In this session, panellists will examine current efforts by governments in the region to create an energy mix and what needs to be done to fast-track the overall push towards Net-Zero in the power utilities sector.
Mr. Quraishi has spent most of his professional life in utility projects development – from concept to realisation, and peviously worked with the UAE’s federal authorities, to complete power and desalination plants worth over $1.2bn.
As an industry expert with forty five years of experience in the energy and desalination industry, Mr. Quraishi comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience that will make this panel session more engaging.
At BEEAH Group, he is responsible for technical, procurement, construction and operational aspects of several energy projects, including the UAE’s first waste-to-energy project.
Power Week 2022 will be held as a physical event for the first time on 24th March 2022 and it is expected to attract the participation of several professionals from the power sector.
The event will bring together top government officials, senior power utilities executives and experts as well as members of the academia to discuss challenges in the power sector, current innovations, success stories and investment opportunities as the Middle East steps up efforts to close the electric power supply-demand gap.
Power Week 2022 will also have two more high -profile panel discussions on:
- Digitalisation for power asset optimisation
- The future of hydrogen: Are we on the right track?
