A joint venture of Louis Berger Services and KFB Holding Group/Exap Contracting has secured a significant power generation contract for the construction of the revolutionary floating industrial zone, Oxagon, situated within Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city, NEOM.
The LBPKSA joint venture will serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for designing, supplying, and installing a cutting-edge containerised diesel power plant for the Saudi Arabian Trading & Construction Company (Satco).
The high-performance power plant will cater to prime power applications, enabling a seamless 24/7 power supply to the dedicated developers and residents constructing Oxagon, redefining the future of urban living.
The remarkable diesel power plant contract marks LBPKSA’s third power generation venture in support of the visionary NEOM region’s sustainable development goals.
In adherence to the contract, the joint venture firm has already provided innovative green power solutions to Satco and the Al Tamimi Group for the construction of two residential camps, known as NEOM Construction Village 2, within the awe-inspiring city.
These camps will accommodate a staggering 30,000 individuals, embracing the essence of NEOM’s futuristic aspirations.
Louis Berger Services, in collaboration with Satco, has also engineered, supplied, installed, and successfully tested/commissioned a hybrid power plant.
The facility seamlessly integrates state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic (PV) power technology, complete with an automatic robotic cleaning system, alongside conventional power sources and battery energy storage.
The implementation of this hybrid power system will considerably reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by an impressive 6,491.7 tonnes per year, while simultaneously curbing diesel fuel consumption by a staggering 2,801,100 liters annually.
