Empower pens contracts worth $8.4mn in July

Empower won eight servicing contracts valued at AED 31mn ($8.4mn) in July and added 35 buildings to its existing portfolio.

The Dubai-based district cooling company already has a portfolio with a capacity in excess of 1 million refrigeration tonnes (RT).

Commenting on the significant performance in the summer period, H.E Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower said: “Most of the real estate projects in Dubai realise the importance of district cooling in protecting the environment and ensuring cost efficiency.

“This technology is renowned now for being environmentally friendly and its conservation in the consumption of electricity. The awareness being generated by Empower for such a long time has increased the number of buildings we are serving where in July alone we have won remarkable contracts even though it is considered a quiet period for business.”

With the Emirate of Dubai continuing to grow at a rapid rate, the need to provide reliable and sustainable services, including district cooling to new customers and developments is becoming increasingly important.

Bin Shafar added: “The total number of buildings connected to Empower’s district cooling systems has increased remarkably leveraging on the importance of district cooling systems that have many benefits, one of which is its efficiency in power consumption, which is absolutely crucial in this region.”

Empower operates more than 1 million Refrigeration Tons (RT), providing environmentally friendly district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, amongst others.
