ABB, a global market leader in HVDC, and GCCIA, the main authority granting efficient power systems in the region have signed a cooperation agreement in Bahrain.

The collaboration aims at leveraging both expertise in their respective fields to develop the regional power infrastructure with complementary technology, know-how and experience, while promoting a culture of innovation.

ABB and GCCIA will work together to address today’s energy challenges through efficient, expandable and stable interconnection, while reducing the environmental impact and contributing to the economic development of the region.

GCCIA serves the GCC countries and beyond, by leading the development of an efficient power market, and providing knowledge excellence in power systems integration while promoting a culture of innovation. The GCCIA operate & maintain a large electrical grid system interconnection spanning between the GCC states. The GCCIA allow power exchanges in the region & ensure reliability of the Grid acting as an emergency power provider in the region.
