Acciona sponsors the 1st international forum of top women leaders in the water sector

Within the framework of the International Desalination Association (IDA) Congress, which will be held in Dubai from 18 to 24 October, ACCIONA is sponsoring and organising the 1st Forum of Top Women Leaders in the Water Sector.
Some of the leading figures in the world water industry will take part on the panel. The panelists will present their experience and reflections on how they have built their professional career, sharing their main achievements and challenges. They will also offer their view of the future of the sector and how it can become an incubator to encourage more women to think about a career in the water industry.
Miriam Balaban, Secretary-General of the EDS (European Desalination Association); Fatme Awale, Minister for Water of the County of Mombasa; Annelise Avril, CEO Suez Consulting; Menatalla Sadek, CEO Hassam Allam Utilities, and Sazam Al Rakaf, Minister for Water of Kuwait, will make up the panel of the forum, which will be moderated by Borja Blanco, CEO de Aqua Advise.
The aim is to encourage an increasingly greater presence of women in the water sector, foster networking, debate ideas to give women in the sector a higher profile and disseminate initiatives that promote the speciality of Water among women and give them more visibility, for example, through training and mentoring, among other things.
The 1st Forum of Tope Women Leaders in the Water Sector will take place on Monday 21 October at 12:30 and anyone registered for the Congress can attend.
Another highlight of the IDA Congress is the “Leaders Summit”, in which prestigious figures from the water sector will analyse what public service companies are doing to take on current challenges, and how to guarantee sustainable water supplies in a context of population growth, urbanization, lower levels of public expenditure, industrialization and climate change.
José Diaz Caneja will head and moderate this panel, which will discuss new technologies, energy efficiency and the integration of renewable energies.
ACCIONA will also have a stand in the exhibition area of the event as a meeting point for sector professionals. On the stand, ACCIONA will give a series of talks during the week that can be attended by all delegates registered for the congress.
