DRC Power, Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition , the first international major power, oil & gas conference and exhibition to be held in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) this year, will be launched in Kinshasa from 4 – 6 December 2019 by Spire Events, a leading global events company specializing in mining and energy conferences and expos.

This is the first time a major international expo has been held in the DRC capital of Kinshasa to shine the spotlight on the whole spectrum of this sector. Topics include oil and gas upstream to downstream developments, renewable energy such as hydropower and solar power, utilities and smart electricity solutions.

Held under the auspices of the DRC Ministry of Hydrocarbons, this inaugural event aims to be the region’s most prominent power and oil & gas event to attract regional and global industry stakeholders, investors, banks, equipment and service providers to invest in the country and region.

DRC Power, Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition has separate 2 days conference, with free-to-attend exhibition, hosting the region’s leading companies & technology providers as well as post conference site-tours.

More than 600 attendees, 45 exhibitors and 30 speakers are expected to converge in Kinshasa for this flagship showcase. Key government Ministers and officials from the government are also expected to be at the event to share on the latest government policies.

DRC has been synonymous with mining over the last few yearsthanksto its global dominance of cobalt supply which is a key component in the lithium-ion batteries that power electronic vehicles (EV) and electric cars.

Beyond this EV boom, DRC is a country with tremendous market potential for energy, power and oil & gas companies given its low rural and urban energy access rates and growing energy demand from mining companies.

Besides the Grand Inga dam which will be the world’s largest dam once completed, other upcoming major developments in the country include the Manono project, Africa’s largest full off-grid solar power project and new exploratory blocks with significant oil potential in its 3 sedimentary basins being offered in 2019 for major oil companies.

The DRC Ministry of Hydrocarbons has given their full support for Spire Events to organize the inaugural DRC Power, Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition in the country. This event will showcase the market potential of the country and encourage more global investors and companies to invest in this sector.

With key government ministers and officials present at the event, it is the ideal platform for companies wishing to enter this untapped market to gain the perfect head start. For companies already in the country, this event presents the ideal opportunity to showcase what they have achieved or announce on upcoming expansion plans.

With the spotlight firmly placed on the country, this is the only event in DRC for companies and investors who wish to understand specific issues affecting its power, oil and gas and energy sectors.

“Spire Events is honoured to be selected by the Ministry as the organiser for the DRC Power, Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition 2019” according to Daniel Radziszewski, Managing Director, Spire Events (Singapore). Daniel further added that “we will tap on our extensive global expertise and experience to deliver an invigorating and world class event.”
