Abu Dhabi goes on waste management education drive
New waste management centre in emirate encourages better practices
Abu Dhabi has set up a new waste management centre in the Western Region of the emirate according to Khaleej Times.
The centre aims to educate and raise public awareness of waste collection and processing methods. It ran a massive public awareness campaign last week to educate residents and students on the usage of black and green bins already installed in the region. About 25-50 students from different public schools from the region were reported to have taken part in the campaign.
This latest campaign was aimed to educate the public about different methods of waste collections and the upgrading of services in the areas of Madinat Zayed, Liwa, Ghayathi, Al Marfaa, Ruwais and Al Silaa in the region.
Hamad Al Ameri, general manager of the centre, urged citizens to cooperate with the centre in its public awareness efforts and to ensure the success of this important project which is aimed at improving the overall hygiene of the area.
