Electric utility markets in the GCC region are set to benefit from a newly formed partnership between US hydrogen energy outfit Proton Energy Systems and utilities logistics management firm SupplyCore Middle East.

Proton Energy describes itself as the world’s leading supplier of onsite hydrogen generators utilising proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology to create high-purity hydrogen from de-mineralised water and electricity.

The firm’s generators and StableFlow control systems (which gained a US patent last month) extend the life and improve the efficiency and reliability of power plant electric generators, while also reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

“Proton Energy is pleased to team up with SupplyCore Middle East to bring our latest and most innovative hydrogen technologies to additional partners in the Persian Gulf region,” said Robert Friedland, president and CEO of Proton Energy Systems.

“Proton’s onsite hydrogen generating and control systems offer tremendous value by producing hydrogen that is more cost effective, safe and reliable to meet the needs of the electric utility market.”
