Oman’s Nama Group supports construction of EV charging stations
The station is designed to carry out researches on electric vehicles charging and to measure the efficiency of electricity chargers
Nama Group has sponsored the construction of the first electric vehicle charging station in the sultanate at Sultan Qaboos University, in cooperation with the Sustainable Energy Research Centre at the University.
This sponsorship is part of Nama’s sustainability strategy in keeping pace with the global trends towards using clean energy and to empower scientific researches in the energy fields as well as supporting the government's efforts towards environmental conservation and sustainable resource management.
The station is designed to carry out researches on electric vehicles charging and to measure the efficiency of electricity chargers.
“Nama Group is keen on sponsoring the establishment of this station in line with the group’s sustainability policy which coincides with the global trend to use electric cars,” said Eng Omar Khalfan al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group.
“The aim of this project is to contribute in enabling the use of electrical energy in the transportation sector, reduce carbon emissions and strengthen the infrastructure of the economy.”
