"Through WETEX, we aim to support the long-term national Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to build a green economy in the UAE under the slogan 'green economy for sustainable development'. We will do this by displaying the country's efforts to preserve the environment, boost partnerships with the private sector, and discussion of exchange knowledge about green technologies in all its forms," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

"The UAE leadership places great importance on environmental and sustainable issues that contribute to boost the sustainable development of the UAE and preserve natural resources for generations to come. In our turn, we work through the WETEX platform to forge agreements and build foundations for relationships that support achieving the UAE Vision 2021 to make the UAE among the best countries in the world by 2021 and achieve sustainable development, water security, and enhancing energy consumption efficiency," added Al Tayer.
"Bringing together a large number of decision-makers and investors under one roof over three days, ensures meaningful discussions on investment in green technologies. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity for businesses to review developed techniques in relevant fields. On the sidelines of WETEX, there are workshops which discuss developments in green technology and investment solutions in sustainable projects. Already, in just a few months prior to the start of WETEX and Dubai Solar Show, we have confirmed the participation of prominent pioneers of green solutions worldwide. We renew our invitation to all companies working in this field to participate and strengthen its network with industry leaders through the exhibition," Al Tayer added.

"We are working to promote synergy between green service providers to accelerate the shift towards a sustainable knowledge based economy, and to build a sustainable environment, and deploy innovative solutions to protect it. This will yield results in the short, medium and long term for economic growth that spurs investments in green solutions and protects the environment," Al Tayer concluded.
