Empower and RWE mull district cooling partnership

 Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider is exploring opportunities for cooperation with German Energy firm RWE AG to streamline its offerings.
This comes in the wake of a visit by senior officials of RWE Middle to Empower offices with the aim of exchanging expertise and reviewing latest developments in the renewable energy and district cooling areas.
Both Empower and RWE are keen on promoting knowledge exchange in district cooling as part of a wider drive towards energy efficiency.
“As the world’s largest district cooling services provider, we have taken the responsibility to search for new technologies that increase the district cooling efficiency to guarantee compliance with the smart and sustainable transition requirements,” said HE Ahmad Bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer of Empower.
New innovations and the adoption of the latest technical standards are allowing Empower to accelerate its energy saving rates, according to Bin Shafar.
“While we have achieved word class status, there is need to collaborate with other reliable energy service providers in the world to align ourselves with global technical trends.”
Empower currently operates more than 1 Million RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, among others.
