L&T awarded EPC contract for 220kV substation
Indian construction firm to build facility for a mystery client in the Middle East.
Indian engineering and construction firm, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been awarded a contract to build a substation in the Middle East.
L&T snared the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) order for a 220kV facility from a mystery customer, it announced on Wednesday.
Though it did not put a figure on the deal the company said the total value of its power transmission and distribution business contracts won in September 2015 amounts to $209.7mn (INR 13.7bn).
L&T has landed multi-million dollar power infrastructure contracts in Oman, Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia in recent months.
