Isolux Corsan awarded $21mn Kuwait substation deal
The facilities have a capacity of 132/11 kV and begin construction in Q3, 2015.
Isolux Corsan has been awarded a EUR 19mn ($21.2mn) contract to build a pair of substations in Kuwait.
The company will start work on the 132/11 kV substations this autumn and expects to complete the job in 2018.
Isolux Corsan will design and manage the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning for the substations.
The company also will provide equipment for the automation system for both installations.
This new contract strengthens and consolidates the presence of Isolux Corsan in Kuwait. In 2013, the Group managed the construction of 172 km of high-voltage lines of 300 kV.
The EUR 80mn project connects the Subiya power plant to key regions and cities in Kuwait.
