Wartsila delivers engines for Oman's Masirah plant
Seven diesel generators will produce 56W of power from 2016.
Wartsila has delivered diesel engines for a power plant on the island of Masirah off the southeast coast of Oman.
Seven Wartsila 32 engines will use light fuel oil to produce a combined output of 56 MW.
They 140 tonne units are currently being stored at the port of Duqm ahead of being moved to the site for installation at the plant which is scheduled to be operational in 2016.
Masirah is one of two power plants being developed by Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAECO) in the southeast of Oman
Finland’s Wartsila is also supplying six identical diesel engines for a 48MW plant at Saih Al Khairat.
