An Eye on Valves
Hany Mourad of AEON on the company's valves and fittings for the water sector.
What is Aeon’s main product/service offering to the utilities sector?
AEON is a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of innovative and technologically advanced valves and fittings for the water, wastewater, gas and fire protection markets. With operations strategically located in the UK, Europe and Middle East, Aeon is in a position to satisfy market requirements through an extensive distribution network.
With our valve technology and significant developments in the quality of our water and natural gas fittings products, we became part of the Radius Systems Group, a worldwide leader in the manufacture of plastic pipes and fittings for the water, wastewater, gas and telecoms markets.
What sort of physical presence do you have in the Middle East and how long have you operated here in this market?
AEON International Gulf has a regional office located in Dubai since 2008 serving the Middle East, GCC and African Market along with a distribution centre carrying a huge stock of water and gas valves. AEON International Gulf also has an assembly and testing facility in Dubai to satisfy the requirements of our customers in the Middle East region.
What kind of growth has the company been seeing in the region?
2014 witnessed a decline in the infrastructure sector and that was mainly due to the geopolitical situation in the region. With the political stability now in Egypt and Dubai winning the Expo 2020, we have recently seen renewed growth in the infrastructure sector in Q1 and Q2, winning projects all over the UAE, Saudi and Egypt. I believe that this growth will continue as there is a due date for the EXPO 2020.
In which countries is business most buoyant?
AEON has had a very good year so far in 2015, winning a number of major prestigious projects and we are currently developing our distribution network in most of the GCC and the African market. We believe that Egypt is one of the most attractive markets because of all of the new urban communities announced by the Egyptian government. Also, planned investments in the Egyptian natural gas sector gives us a great opportunity for our high quality patented gas valves.
What is your most recent major contract win in the region?
AEON is proud to be the supplier of valves for the water network of the AKOYA project by DAMAC, one of the most prestigious property developments in Dubai. We will supply valves for the irrigation network, golf course and the pumping stations through different well known contractors.
What sets AEON apart from competitors?
AEON is very close to customers in the Middle East region with a very professional team on the ground for technical and sales support. We deliver quality service and we are dedicated to solving our customers’ problems through offering either technical advice or our products. Also, with our assembly and testing facility located in Dubai, we offer our customers the chance to witness the testing procedures first hand.
