DEWA reveals solar desalination plant bids
Six companies in the running to develop a pilot project in Dubai.
DEWA has accepted seven bids to develop a pilot solar powered desalination project.
HHH Construction submitted by far the lowest bid of just under AED 3mn ($816,000) to Design, Supply, Install, Test and Commission a plant using reverse osmosis technology.
LMM Trading placed the highest bid of AED 9.3mn, according to DEWA’s website.
Value Addition, ADC Energy Systems, Bilfinger Deutsch Babcock Emirates and Al Mostajed Technologies also submitted bids, the latter proposing two alternative offers.
Abengoa Water and Drake and Skull Engineering had offers rejected because they did not include a tender bond of not less than 5% of the total tender price along with their proposal.
