VA Tech Wabag wins $91mn Bahrain order
Indian firm lands EPC contract for water treatment project in Al Madina Al Shamaliya.
Water treatment company VA Tech Wabag, along with its joint venture partner Belhasa Projects, has landed its first engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in Bahrain worth $91m.
The firm will design and build Al Madina Al Shamaliya sewage treatment plant, with a capacity of 40,000 cubic metres per day, it said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The sewage treatment plant order from the Ministry of Housing is for Al Madina Al Shamaliya, the new town being developed on reclaimed land off the north coast of Bahrain
The project is funded by Abu Dhabi Fund for Economic Development, it added.
