Alstom and National Grid SA pen MoU
French company and unit of SEC to cooperate on grid development in KSA.
Alstom Grid and National Grid of Saudi Arabia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate in developing and advancing electricity infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a long-term basis.
Under the MOU, the two parties will cooperate in the fields of standards and specifications, engineering and design, maintenance and operation, technical exchange forums and technology roadmap, Paris-based Alstom said in a statement.
The deal covers equipment such as HV switchgear, power transformers, substation automation solutions including protection and measurement IEDs, digital substation, smart grid and supergrid applications, network management as well as maintenance.
Experts from the Alstom Technical Institute will also provide National Grid SA engineers with the optimum level of technical information adapted to their day-to-day requirements.
The MOU was signed by Mohammad Al-Rafaa, Engineering Vice President of National Grid and Michel Augonnet, Senior Vice President Commercial Solutions of Alstom Grid during a ceremony organised at the Alstom Grid Headquarters in Paris.
National Grid SA is a sunsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
