Alfa Laval bags $13mn power plant contract
Swedish firm to supply air-cooler system to unnamed Middle East client.
Alfa Laval has won an SEK 110mn ($13.3mn) order to supply air-cooler systems to an unspecified client plant in the Middle East.
Delivery of the systems, which will be used for cooling duties in a combined cycle power plant, is scheduled for 2016, the Swedish company said in a statement.
“This order proves our strong position as reliable supplier of efficient equipment for the demanding applications within the power industry,” says Lars Renstrom, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.
In March Alfa Laval won a $6.6mn order to supply heat exchangers to an unnamed client in the Middle East for an integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plant.
IGCC is a technology where coal and other carbon-based fuels are turned into synthesis gas, which is subsequently used to produce steam for power generation.
