Oman power and water output rises year on year
Sultanate produces 9.6% more electricity and 13.2% more water.
Oman saw a significant rise in power and water production last year, according to figures from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The country generated almost 10% more power during 2014 compared to the previous 12 months while water production rose by 13.2%.
Power output reached a total of 28,755 GWh for the year, up from 26,240 GWh a year earlier, and water production rose to more than 323.1 million cubic metres (m3) from 285.5 million m3 in 2013.
Muscat produced 26.2% more water compared to the previous year but power production dipped by 3.3%.
