What is Pentair’s offering to the Middle East utilities sector?
Pentair’s Thermal Building Solutions offers a unique portfolio of integrated applications that deliver comfort, life safety and performance in industrial, commercial and residential facilities. In the Middle East, we particularly focus on the supply of fire-rated wiring cables and speciality wiring systems. Our Pyrotenax range of mineral insulated (MI) cables has been specifically designed to ensure electrical power is available for critical circuit survival when exposed to extreme high heat environments.

Further applications, which are of interest to the utilities sector, are our leak detection solutions. Pentair’s TraceTek is one of the most reliable, accurate and flexible fluid leak detection systems on the market. It protects any facility by sensing and alerting the operator if a leak occurs and can be adapted to various structures and facilities.

Over the past few years, we have also started to widen our offering in the region to include our energy-efficient hot water temperature (HWAT) maintenance system. With an emphasis on user comfort, this innovative technology is ideal for large residential or commercial buildings, where it provides reliable temperature and energy management.

What presence do you have in the region and what is your most recent contract win?
The Pentair group has been operating in the Middle East for over 20 years and has manufacturing, sales, and operations facilities across the region. There are currently no products from the Thermal Building Solutions platform manufactured in the Middle East, however, our sister company Pentair Valves & Controls manufactures in the UAE.

What is your most recent major contract win in the region?
We have recently supplied our comfort and performance solutions to the Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD) commercial development. The project is a good example of best practice architecture, helping rebuild a new heart for the city.

What sort of growth has the company been seeing?
Over the past two years, we have seen an increased demand in thermal building solutions, in particular for large-scale residential, leisure and commercial projects. Overall, we’re happy with our current growth levels and are anticipating to see our growth double as we strengthen our work with local distributors and capitalise on new opportunities offered by this region over the next year.

Which Middle East countries are seeing the highest demand at the moment?
Currently, demand for our products is particularly strong in the UAE and Qatar. However, we are expecting to see further growth in both Saudi Arabia and Oman due to their expanding tourism sectors. As a result of this expansion, these countries have seen an increased investment in infrastructure and large construction projects, opening up numerous opportunities for our solutions.

Tell us about your latest product innovation
We will soon be launching a new extended warranty scheme for our fire-rated wiring cables. The new scheme cements our commitment to service excellence and provides our customers with complete piece of mind when purchasing our products.

What sets Pentair apart from its competitors?

We not only supply them with the equipment they need to keep their facilities running, but also offer them a complete set of integrated solutions, including support with industry specifications and full construction project management. That way, our customers can be assured that their projects are delivered on time and on budget and adhere to all the required local regulations.
