Hyundai E&C wins $126mn grid contract in KSA
Korean company will build a 380kV transmission line in the Saudi capital of Riyadh
Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. has won a $126mn project to lay power transmission lines in Saudi Arabia.
The Korean firm will build 249 kms of a 380 kV transmission line in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, the South Korean builder said.
The deal was struck with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
"The latest project comes as the company received recognition for excellent engineering skills and overall performance seen in other similar projects that are underway in Saudi Arabia," a Hyundai E&C official said.
Construction is expected to take about 24 months, according to the company.
Hyundai E&C currently has a total of 13 projects worth about $1.4bn underway in the Middle Eastern country.
