District cooling company Tabreed has renewed a major deal with Aldar Properties which will see it connect future Aldar sites to its network for the next 30 years.
Tabreed currently has six plants providing 160,000 refrigeration tonnes of cooling to major Aldar projects including Yas Mall and the World Trade Center district on the site of Abu Dhabi's former central market. It has been working with Aldar since 2005.
Jasim Husain Thabet, Tabreed CEO, said: “Over the years, Tabreed’s strategy has focused on partnering with the region’s leading developers and organisations to enable the delivery of reliable cooling services to projects that support the region’s socio-economic development.
The strengthening of our partnership with one of the region’s most prominent real estate developers is an endorsement of our commitment to providing a utility service that is environmentally-friendly and helps enable a reduction in energy consumption, thereby contributing to a decrease in our nation’s carbon footprint.”
“We are excited by the future possibilities and collaboration opportunities this renewed district cooling agreement will present.”
