DEWA progresses water network expansion
Utility completes 44% of 418km Dubai pipeline extension plan.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has completed 184km (44%) of a 418km water network extension project across different parts of Dubai.
The project includes extending 100-450 mm Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) water transmission pipes, at an estimated total cost of AED 167mn ($45.5mn).
“The main objective of the project is to improve water transmission networks in new areas, and upgrade the existing network to reduce water losses,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“The project is proceeding as per the planned schedule and is expected to be completed within a year.”
