Canadian Solar provides panels for Jordan project

Kawar Energy buys 1.5MW of modules for university rooftop.

Canadian Solar has won a contract to supply 1.5 MW of photovoltaic (PV) modules to the largest solar power rooftop project in Jordan.

Kawar Energy agreed to purchase the units which will be used in a university in Amman, Jordan’s capital.

In a statement, Canadian Solar did not reveal the value of the deal.

The Nasdaq-listed manufacturer will supply its high efficiency 72 cell CS6X300P modules with power output respectively of 300Wp to the project.

"We made the decision to work with Canadian Solar on the largest solar power rooftop project in Jordan as we trust the quality and performance of its solar modules, as well as its track record of success delivering modules to large scale solar power projects worldwide,” said Hanna Zaghloul, CEO of Kawar Energy.

“These attributes make Canadian Solar a perfect fit for our project needs. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Canadian Solar."
