The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) has asked Siemens to implement enterprise resource planning (ERP), including customer relationship management (CRM) and billing.

“The Authority is constantly striving to keep up with the latest technology to serve its strategic objectives and to provide services of the highest level of efficiency and excellence,” said FEWA general manager Mohammed Mohammed Saleh, according to state news agency WAM.

“This mission will be achieved through the application of a system that is of an international standard, thereby improving the quality of services provided to the public, enhancing customer satisfaction.”

FEWA studied a number of proposals with various companies, but chose Siemens and software giant SAP to implement its new ERP solution.

“Securing this deal with FEWA further strengthens Siemens commitment towards improving the technological capabilities of the utilities sector in the UAE by providing world class innovative solutions,” said Joachim Kundt, CEO of Siemens LLC.

“For Siemens this is a highly strategic project and the company looks forward to fostering a long term strategic partnership with FEWA together with our partner SAP.”
