DEWA awards $18mn water transmission contract
Mystery company wins deal to equip pumping stations in Dubai.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has handed out a AED 65mn ($17.7mn) contract for the supply and installation of surge protection devices for pumping stations.
An unnamed company was awarded the deal for the work which will increase the reliability of water supply in different parts of Dubai such as Jebel Ali, Mushrif and Hatta.
“DEWA seeks to increase the productivity, operational efficiency and reliability of its water supply networks in all parts of Dubai as part of its efforts to advance sustainable development,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“The project assures the provision of uninterrupted water supply to support the current and future development needs of Dubai.”
The work should be completed by June 2016.
