A Chinese delegation has paid a visit to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) Jebel Ali Power Station.

Tang Weibin, consul general of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai, led the group around the huge facility as part of DEWA’s efforts to promote closer ties with diplomatic missions in the UAE.

DEWA officials took the Chinese delegation on a tour around the plant and discussed projects that are implemented in partnership with Chinese companies.

It follows a visit to China last week by a delegation led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

The new M-Station, built at a cost of AED 10 bn ($2.7bn), is the largest power production and desalination plant in the UAE and is equipped with the latest technological systems.

The plant has a thermal efficiency of 85% with a capacity of over 2,000 MW of electricity and 140 million imperial gallons of water per day.
