Al Khor sewer works shuts Doha road for ten months
Al Khor’s sewage network is being given a makeover.
The east-bound carriageway of the Al-Ameer Road in Al Khor, Qatar, will be shut for ten months as Ashghal continues to ramp up its roads and drainage programme.
The road will be shut from 3 April as extension works are carried out on Al Khor’s sewage network.
The tow-lane westbound carriageway of the road will become a tow-way road with one lane in each direction.
Ashghal has appealed to all commuters within the area to cooperate by driving safely and carefully and respect the speed limit during the diversions.
In recent weeks, the public works authority has awarded sizeable contracts for work on the country’s roads.
Larsen & Toubro was awarded a $600mn contract for the design and construction of the Al Wakrah Bypass Road in Doha, while joint venture QDVC-Bin Omran won a $1.16bn design and construction contract for the Orbital Highway and Truck Route, which is part of the Salwa Road to North Relief Road project.
