DEWA showcases eco-friendly home appliances
Utility launches SmarTech Shopper to highlight eco-friendly products.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the launch of SmarTech Shopper 2014, an exhibition targeting consumers under the theme ‘Better Life.’
Exhibitors will use this platform to offer environmentally-friendly home appliances to consumers at special rates.
SmarTech Shopper 2014 will coincide with the World Green Economy Summit and the 16th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2014) as well as Green Week, in Hall 7 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from 14-16 April 2014.
The debut exhibition directly targets the consumer sector which represents the biggest portion of users of electricity and water consumers as well as of DEWA’s outreach campaigns to rationalise electricity and water use and support environmental sustainability.
“DEWA's decision to organise SmarTech Shopper is in line with its firm commitment to the Smart City initiative, and encouraging the use of smart eco-friendly home appliances and applications. The exhibition will serve as a stand-alone initiative and a platform for retailing environmentally-friendly solutions," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
“SmarTech Shopper is inspired by DEWA’s strategy to reach out to consumers, including school and university students and families, to make them aware of the importance of using solutions and products that reduce consumption of electricity and water, with the goal of conserving natural resources," added Al Tayer.
SmarTech Shopper represents a pioneering and innovative move from DEWA. Through the exhibition, DEWA seeks to offer environmentally-friendly home appliances at competitive prices through partnerships with leading manufacturers and distributors. Reflecting the importance of environmental sustainability, DEWA has allocated 11 booths to the exhibition and a Smart Zone area for highlighting sustainability practices.
