Alstom upbeat about GCC's smart grid potential
Company in continuous talks with public utility firms in the regions
The GCC countries have a massive potential to develop smart grid technology, Alstom president Gregoire Poux-Guillaume told UME.
"Implementing smart grid technology in the region could be the best solution for tackling the rising demand for power," Poux-Guillaume said at the press trip in Nice, France.
"We are talking to the public utility authorities in the region and the response so far has been positive," he added.
The global demand for smart grid rowing rapidly with the total spend expected to reach US $1tn by 2017.
