Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received at his office a delegation from SAP headed by Werner Brandt, who is a member of the Executive Board of SAP AG and Chief Financial Officer of SAP AG.

Al Tayer said that DEWA has been implementing the international Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programme SAP, which aims to measure, integrate and automate all internal operations of DEWA and link them with the outputs of the Strategic Plan, since 2009.

“Through this programme, DEWA aims to integrate its overall operations to provide specifications, flexibility, integrated reports, monitor operational works, and timely information that support taking the right decision,” said Al Tayer.

The delegation discussed various subjects including the activation of the new ‘Governance’ Model, and the participation of SAP MENA in the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2014 which will take place on 14-16 April 2014 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, in conjunction with the World Green Economy Summit 2014, the first-of-its-kind in the region.

The meeting shed light on boosting collaboration between DEWA and SAP MENA especially with DEWA implementing the Smart Government initiative, and transforming to the Smart Grid.
