DEWA completes phase one reservoir upgrade
US $67 million investment strengthens Dubai's water network.
The first phase of a project to build a new reservoir to house up to 120 million gallons of water in Dubai has now been completed.
The CEO of Dubai Electricty & Water (DEWA), HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer visited the site of the $67 million (AED 246 million) project to inspect progress, which he said is aimed at strengthening water networks to boost capacity in Dubai.
Once complete, it will bring the total storage capacity for desalinated water up to 790 million gallons.
“The first phase of the project is completed, and we will begin the construction of the foundation as planned, before testing and launching two reinforced concrete reservoirs with a capacity of 60 million gallons each,” said Al Tayer.
