Alstom Grid wins SEC Madinah projects
Contracts worth $116m include construction of 380kV substation
Alstom Grid has been awarded two contracts from Saudi Electric Company (SEC) worth a combined US $116 million. The deals will see the construction of a new 380/110/13.8kV BSP located in Madinah, together with the associated circuits.
The project will cover the interconnection between Al-Salam BSP and other 380kV BSP’s in the National Grid Network.
Alstom says that this is the first 380kV substation deal signed with SEC since 2007, and is a part of the KSA Grid interconnection project plans. The new substation will help boost network efficiency in the Madinah area, which is under increasing pressure from rising demand.
