Allied Consultants wins Empower DC tender
Firm will design two DC projects for Dubai's Business Bay development
Empower has awarded Allied consultants a contract to design two district cooling (DC) plants in Dubai’s Business Bay, adding over 80,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT) to the development’s cooling capacity. Tenders for the contract were first invited back in February of this year.
“Empower adopts a meticulous approach to selecting service providers, especially in projects that required sophisticated technical expertise. After a thorough evaluation, Allied Consultants’ proposal was found to be very comprehensive and covered all technical details that we asked for,” said Empower CEO Ahmed Bin Shafar.
Allied Consultants has undertaken numerous projects for Empower in the past, including the design of the TECOM, Mirdiff and Al-Quoz DC plants. The new plants will increase Empower’s production by 20 percent, with each new plant expected to deliver a minimum of 40,000 RT of cooling.
Both plants will be connected to the existing Business Bay DC distribution network, and will serve the full locality with chilled water supply and return lines.
