DEWA announces launch of US $163mn substations
CEO issues year-to-date progress report on infrastructure build-outs
Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that it has opened two 400kV main transformation substations this year.
The utility has also launched 15 132kV main transformation systems, with a total transformation capacity of up to 2250MVA, at a total cost of us $272 million throughout the course of year.
The details were revealed by DEWA managing director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer in an interview with UAE newspaper Emirates Business 24/7.
Al Tayer added that another 400kV transformation station is expected to enter service during the last quarter of this year.
There are now 13 400kV main transformation stations, alongside 131 132kV stations.
