Qatar show to see energy giant GE launch efficient technology
Building on its long-standing commitment to support Qatar and the Middle East to generate efficient reliable and cleaner power, GE is showcasing a wide range of advanced energy technologies at the 2012 POWER-GEN Middle East conference.
Held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar, this year’s POWER-GEN Middle East will take place at the Qatar National Convention Center, Doha, from February 6-8. The conference theme of “Changing Power Solutions in Challenging Times” highlights the importance of achieving sustainability and efficiency in power generation to meet growing power needs.
“Achieving energy efficiency is key to driving sustainable development,” said Joseph Anis, President and CEO, GE Energy in the Middle East. “We take pride in the advanced technology solutions that we continue to deliver to our public and private customers enabling them to meet the growing demand for energy, which is critical to achieving growth in Qatar, and the region."
Supporting the event’s theme, GE will showcase advanced technology solutions under the banner of “Cleaner, Flexible, More Efficient”. Technology highlights on the booth include the new FlexEfficiency 50 combined cycle power plant that integrates renewables with natural gas to produce cleaner, more affordable and reliable power; power plant lifecycle solutions that empower customers to make efficient use of scarce resources and enable them to achieve increased operational efficiency.
Also being launched at the show is GE’s newest innovation the GE TS1000 coalescer, a gas turbine filtration product that delivers improved plant performance and lower maintenance costs to customers in the Middle East operating power generation facilities in harsh environments.
