Qatar’s General Electricity and Water Corporation, Kahramaa, has chaired a meeting with local electricity contractors to brief them on 2012 tenders.

The meeting was designed to ensure that contractors are better prepared to meet the specific requirements of tendered projects, and that the procedures will become increasingly transparent and therefore competitive.

In a report by The Peninsular, Eng Nasser Mohammed Al Naemi, Electricity Department Manager, said: “The meeting discussed various issues related to Kahramaa business, including the necessity and conditions of street repavement after the completion of installation works, commitment to people convenience, and road cleaning after project implementation.

At the meeting, contractors were also invited to bid on the tenders for cable installation for transmission networks, emphasising the importance of upgrades before commissioning for better services.
