Having already received $145m from the World Bank for a wastewater collection system in Tehran, the Islamic Development Bank has approved a $330m loan to construct two wastewater treatment facilities in the city.

According to Asghar Riyazati, in an interview with the Mehr news agency, the country needs in the region of $1.2 billion if it is to fully implement its plans to renovate Tehran’s wastewater facilities.
