A $36.3m contract has been awarded by Oman’s Public Authority for Electricity and Water to Galfar Engineering and Contracting Company, for the construction of a new water pipeline.

The pipeline will move water from Wadi Adai to Amerat, and under the terms of the contract, will be completed within 545 days.

In an interview with the Muscat Daily, J K Salvi, VP of Galfar, said: “"It is a medium-sized water supply contract which has been awarded by PAEW. Our order book is well over the $1.29bn and this project will add another $36.3m to the book. Construction will start after the contract is ratified by the Ministry Responsible for Financial Affairs, which could take around two months.”
