Toshiba has announced that it is to partner with GE to provide a new thermal power generation system, combining their two steam and gas turbine technologies to markets in Southeast Asia, Japan and the Middle East.

A combined cycle system, the generating sets will combine advanced turbine technology from GE and efficient steam turbines from Toshiba. The combined cycle system is an energy efficient system that uses the exhaust steam from the gas turbine to drive a separate turbine, allowing the generation of extra electricity.
