Iran attempts nuclear fuel deal with IAEA
President promises to stop enriching uranium if given it by West
The Iranian government has said that it will stop its production of low enriched uranium as long as the West provides it with the requisite material.
In a long-running battle between Iran and the western world, the country had continued to reiterate its intention to use nuclear technology only for peaceful energy production, while the west has voiced concerns.
Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that if the IAEA, the UN’s nuclear watchdog, gave the country 20 per cent enriched uranium, it would halt its domestic production by the same amount.
