Iranian president to sign off hydro projects
Ahmadinejad will inaugurate one and sign new construction deals
Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to inaugurate a series of projects during a visit to Tajikistan later this month.
According to an IRNA report, the president will inaugurate the first phase of the Sangtuda 2 dam and its associated hydroelectric power plant, which was begun in early 2006.
In addition, the report continues, he will finalise a contract for the construction of another hydroelectric power plant near the Zarafshan river, which is anticipated to cost in the region of $220m.
