40% growth for UAE's power generation
Growing demand to be matched by generation by 2020
A new report by independent analysts Business Monitor International has shown that the UAE is expected to grow its power generation by almost 40 per cent in the next nine years to keep up with growing demand.
The report states that the UAE will account for more than seven per cent of the Middle East and Africa’s power generation by 2015, growing a further 18.2 per cent in the following five years.
Energy demand growth in the same time frame is also expected to increase from 17.6 per cent between 2011 and 2015 to 22.1 per cent, with the forecast period seeing a total increase of 43.6 per cent.
