FEWA, the UAE’s Federal Electricity and Water Authority, has invited bids for the construction of a new deep water well field in Umm Al Qaiwain.

Forming part of FEWA’s plans to meet water supply targets in the emirate, the 40-well project would produce around 10,000 gallons of water per hour, fed to a pipe system and into a line feeding twin desalination plants. Centrally controlled by the Umm Al Qaiwain desalination plant, the project is expected to cost around $5.4 million.
