New tech for Jordan wastewater
Jordan will trial new energy saving technology at water plant
A pilot project designed to reduce energy consumption at water treatment plants in Jordan has been approved, and is aiming for a 40 per cent saving.
In an agreement signed between the cous Ministry of Water and Irrigation and a private sector alliance, including Huber Technology and Engicon, the Madaba Wastewater Treatment plant will be a test bed for the implementation of energy saving technologies, which aim to claw back some $85,000 a year.
The $567,000 project will be implemented across four other plants if the trial – which is tipped for completion in 2013 – is successful.
