750MW Syrian power plant construction green-lit
$923m generating facility to cope with increasing power demands
The construction of a $923 million Syrian power project will get underway in the next two months, bringing an additional 750 megawatts to the Deir Ezzor region.
In a report by SANA the country’s minister of electricity, Imad Khamis has announced that the Al-Taim Electric Generating Plant would help with increasing demand on electricity services, and also provide up to 2,000 jobs, supporting the region’s energy development and stability.
In a meeting with Deir-Ezzor council members, it was also confirmed that the plan also includes the construction of 125, 125-megawatt electricity transformers.
