The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced its generation figures for the first quarter of 2011.

Total electricity generation for the period reached 6008 gigawatt/hour, which quantities of water supplied in the same time period reached 20111 million gallons of desalinated water.

H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA, said “These accomplishments made by DEWA stress the fact that our government is determined to pursue its developmental march steadily, and push forward to implement its vital projects, especially in the field of infrastructure. Infrastructure has always been one of Dubai’s characteristics and constitutes one of the most important pillars of sustainable development.”

DEWA currently possesses 23,000 main transformation substations with capacity of 11kV, 152 main transformation substations with capacity of 132kV, and 14 main transformation substation with capacity of 400kV.
